Today marks a very tragic day.
The day that polyvore made us have permanent usernames.
I'm not too thrilled with their decision but whatever.
So, my new permanent username will be "tip-princess", that is the one used for the domain and tagging, but my display name will be "Tip Princess".
I wanted to keep "Godly Advice & Tip Girl™" but it was too long and looked strange with no spaces so, in 6 days, I'll be "Tip Princess". You can still pm me with questions and I will still give you advice, but my name will just be different.
My 2nd & 3rd choices were "cali-tip-princess" and "advice-and-tip-girl", so there is a chance that I will become one of those, but I don't think so.
Apparently this change is supposed to make Polyvore more user-friendly according to somewhere off of Google so, we will see! :)

Christmas Gifts for cheap
So after that lovely thanksgiving break school has started again. I reallyyyy want to make tips still but I have soooo many classes, some are AP, so I pretty much have no time. But, I can still make tips if I just use a picture and words and don't take an hour to make a set. So, i am really sorry, but my tips won't have sets anymore :( Anywhooooo back to the tip:

Nice Gifts for under $20

I don't know about you, but I don't have a bunch of money to buy big amazing presents for my family, so here are some nice, budget friendly gifts perfect for your family and friends....

Dad-
he's the hardest to shop for, I have learned that the best gifts for Dads are either gifts that will make something he likes doing more enjoyable or make something he doesn't like doing (like yard work) easier.

-itunes giftcard (music lover)
-a cool new spatula (for grilling/cooking)
-a new remote (if he likes watching TV)
-a book of football statistics or about his favorite team
-a CD
-a set of good smelling soaps & body sprays (old spice, axe etc...)
-an interesting game (if he likes spending time with his family)
-crossword puzzles
-if your dad is creative you can get him a nice sketchbook at a bookstore or craft store
-movies (target is having a great movie sale right now, like $3.99 for a movie)
-netflix subscription ($9.99)
-subscription to his favorite magazine, a sports magazine etc...
-make him something :)

~Mom~
moms are easy because they pretty much like what you like

-nail polish
-a gift card to a salon
-makeup
-fuzzy socks
-a yummy smelling hand cream
-starbucks gift card
-slippers
-candles
-cute storage containers for their desk
-a 2011 calendar
-a book
-a cookbook
-a subscription to their favorite magazine
-a stack of cooking magazines tied with a ribbon & tuck in a wooden spoon (cute!)
-box of sees candy (my mom loveeeess thisss!)
-body spray
-if your mom wants perfume, you could put your money together with a sibling's money so you can afford it. Good purfumes for moms are the ones from bath and body works, victoria's secret bombshell, & pink sugar

****i like to give my parents a date night basket: movie tickets, a certificate that says "1 free night of babysitting", popcorn, and a couple candy bars***

Pre Teen sibling-
you decide what age this is, but my sister is 11 and she lovesss girly stuff already :)

Girl-
-nail polish set (like from forever 21)
-cute hair accessories (bright colors, bows, headbands, clips etc...)
-a CD or itunes giftcard
-a shirt from hollister or american eagle (they ARE expensive stores, but I find shirts allll the time there for under $20, especially around this time of year..look in the clearance & bring a coupon if you have one!)
-a certificate (that you make on the computer or something) that says "Good for one girl day at the mall", take her to her favorite stores, try on fancy dresses, eat in the food court, take pictures, be silly! she will appreciate this and it will make her feel like a teenager, my sister loves when I do this with her, good bonding time :)
-a body splash with glitter in it
-sillybandz

Boy preteen/teen
-a CD or itunes card
-sillybandz
-a hat
-funky shoe laces

holiday parties (what to wear & stuff)
here is your guide to all those holiday parties/gatherings for this season :)

Clothes :

thanksgiving day- you don't have to wear a dress, this holiday is pretty casual, just a time to give thanks and eat yummy food :) Wear something casual but put together, like some dark wash jeans, a pretty lace cami and a nice cardigan.

christmas party-
depending on how formal it is, you can wear a semi-formal dress. If the party is casual, still wear something nice, like your best pair of jeans and a pretty top or a casual dress with red flats :)

christmas day- well, you will probably wear your pj's while you open presents, but later, like for dinner or if you go to someone's house for dinner, you can wear a semi formal dress with thick tights & some flats or a nice pair of jeans with a cami & cable knit sweater in a christmas-y color :)

Makeup:

For thanksgiving, try a neutral smokey eye with browns and golds & a red lip or a peachy/coral lip

For christmas...
-dramatic smokey eye with black & grey colors & sparkly false lashes
-my "winter wonderland" look
http://www.polyvore.com/winter_wonderland_makeup_look/set?id=25128566
-this is a great look
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxlNQhMPoMs

Shoes:

For formal events:
-black pumps
-red pumps
-gold pumps
-glitter pumps
-you could even wear glitter toms :)
-red, black, silver, or gold flats

For casual events:
-red converse
-black converse (it would be really cute if you used a christmas-y ribbon for laces!)
-glitter toms
-flats
-ugg boots
-black leather or suede boots

Accessories:

Formal
-clutch
-bangles (black, red, gold, or silver)
-a statement neclace
-tiffany bracelet/necklace

Casual
-long necklace
-bangles

Hair:

-Taylor Swift curls (with an enzo milano, or just take the clamp off your curling iron...its ridiculously easy!)
-big, loose curls (with a 1 inch barrel curling iron)
-straighten it and put in a poof/quiff
-wavy (shower & braid your hair before bed, then take out when you wake up and presto!)
-with a hair acessory: bow, headband, embellished bobbi pins
-sleek, high ponytail
-lauren conrad braid
-low, messy side bun
-twist your bangs to the side, then bobbi pin
-fishtail braid (on the side)

holiday makeover

holiday makeover
this makeover is great: pamper yourself while you're on thanksgiving break, de-stress before you go back to school, and be ready to take on whatever beauty challenges the holiday season throws at you :)

#1
Light candles in the bathroom and seal out the air by pressing towels gently against the space under the door (this will create a steamy sauna feel), run the bath water and put in some yummy smelling bath salts or bubble bath. For a fresh feel, throw in some mint leaves (you will smell soooo goooddd after!) take a nice long soakkk, shave, wash your hair, and exfoliate your skin. *play christmas music while you soak if you want ♥*

#2
when you get out, dry off & moisturize all over with a thick cream or a body butter to prevent your skin from drying out in the cold winter weather :)

#3
put on a robe, some cute jammies, or some comfy lounge clothes & put on christmas music :)

#4
put on a mask and relax for a bit :) here are some ideas for DIY face masks:

rejuvenating cranberry mask
1 cup fresh cranberries (left over from thanksgiving)
1 cup seedless red or green grapes
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 cup plain yogurt

blend ingredients together in a blender, put on your face and let sit for 10 minutes. rinse off with warm water :)

the make-your-face-glow-and-be-acne-free mask (my faveee!!!)

1/4 cup dry oatmeal
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoon of honey
1/4 teaspoon of your favorite acne-be-gone product (i use clean and clear persagel 10%)

blend in a blender, then massage into your face and leave for 10 min. rinse with warm water

ultra moisturizing mask

1 avocado, peeled and mashed
1 tablespoon lemon
1 tablespoon sugar

mix together, then rub into your skin in circular motions. leave for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water :)

#5
rub a mixture of cinnamon, sugar, and a tiny bit of Vaseline into your lips. This will plump, soften, and moisturize them :)

#6
give yourself (or have a friend help) a manicure & a pedicure. here are some ideas for colors/designs:

-red on one nail, green on the next, red on one nail, green on the next
-light blue with a glittery top coat
-a colorful french manicure: clear on the nail and a color on the tip (red, green, blue)
-a regular french manicure with a glittery top coat
-silver nails with a glittery top coat
-red and white stripes (candy cane nails) hehe :)

#7
massage in your favorite hair mask or try one of these:

-2 mashed bananas & 1 tablespoon of honey (for frizz)
-1 mashed avocado, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablesppon honey (deep conditioning)

shower out your hair mask (or you can do this before you bathe) & you are good to go! :)

winter wonderland makeup look

winter wonderland makeup look
This look is great for snow days at school, holiday parties, or any winter day :)

✶Start out with applying a liquid foundation that will give you a flawless finish

✶next apply a gel blush to your cheeks
*only use a tiny bit because it's so concentrated
* squirt it on the back of your hand and then apply with a sponge, this will give you a natural looking, long lasting, beautiful glow..similar to the pink cheeks you get when its cold.

✶ apply concealer if you need it
✶apply a highlight to the bridge of your nose & cheekbones for a glowing effect
✶set your foundation with loose powder and a fluffy powder brush

✶use a white eyeliner and apply it along your eyelids and the inner corners of your eyes.
*this creates a lighter base on your lids, primes the eyeshadow, and brightens your eyes
*use your warm fingers and blend it in

✶apply the white liner along your brow-bone & blend in

✶select a medium grey colored eye shadow and apply it along the outer-corners and crease of your eye, soften it with a fluffy brush

✶select a lighter grey eyeshadow and apply it over the dark grey, just a little.

✶use a fluffy brush to fade and blend the colors out
*you want a soft effect because snow is soft and delicate, so avoid harsh edges.

✶select a shimmery white eyeshadow and apply it above the grey. Reach up to the brown bone and bring it back down into the inner corners.

✶using a glittery silver color, apply it all over your lids and a little along your lower lash line

✶using the medium grey color, apply it along your upper lash line as eyeliner, keep it soft and suttle

✶curl your lashes

✶coat your lashes evenly with your favorite black or grey mascara

✶while your mascara is still wet, apply a shimmery white eyeshadow where you want on your lashes to create snowflakes on your lashes :)

✶lastly, apply nude lip liner and a light pink lip stick, then apply a thin layer of blue lipgloss. i know the gloss sounds scary, but its actually translucent when on and makes your teeth look whiter :)

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! :)

♥ How to make button jewelry ♥
Buttons are one of the cutest things in the world ♥ you can do all sorts of crafty projects with them; but for fall; they make for great accessories ♥

Button Bracelet ♥

Step 1. Gather lots and lots of buttons in cute colors; for fall; I use oranges, browns, clear shiny buttons, and creams. You can get buttons at Michaels, Joannes, Hobby Lobby, or any other craft store; but the BEST place to get them is estate sales, garage sales, and flea markets. you can get a whole bunch for like $2!!! :D and they will be cooler and vintage looking :)

O3. Gather your supplies together
you will need-
♥buttons
♥stretchy cord (craft store)
♥scissors
♥ needle (optional)
♥sharpie

Step 4. Measure your wrist;
cut a piece of stretchy cord off and wrap it around your wrist WITHOUT stretching it; then mark the cord with a sharpie wherever it comes together around your wrist;
leave 2 extra inches of cord for tying it at the end :)

Step 5. Lay out your favorite buttons parallel to the cord so you can plan which ones will go where & such.

Step 6. Tie a knot on the end of your cord

Step 7. String your buttons on;
don't stick the string through just one hole in the button; weave them through each hole so that they lay flat on the string and don't just hang there :)

Step 8. Tie off the ends in a triple knot (because stretchy cord is slippery and more likely to come undone) then slip it onto your wrist and you're good to go :)

♥Button earrings♥

Step 1. get some earrings at a craft store (that don't have anything on them yet)

Step 2. Take some thin wire or stretchy cord & string your buttons on

Step 3. Tie off the ends & wear :)

♥Button hair clips♥

Step 1. Heat up a hot clue gun or get some extra strong tacky glue

Step 2. Gather your buttons, bobbie pins, and "naked" hair clips.

Step 3. Hot clue one button onto each hair accessory; let dry, and wear :)

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it! :) God Bless!!! :D

fall outfits :)
As the school year starts and the weather cools off; you should start thinking about outfits for fall; whevever this season comes around i'm just lazy and basically wear jeans everyday; but I'm not going to do that this year :) here are some different outfits PERFECT for fall~~~

O1. Denim Leggings with a longer top;
denim leggings are so in right now and they look super slimming if paired with a longer top; a grey peacoat would look super cute; or a cardigan & boyfriend tee :) pair with ugg boots or slouchy boots

O2. The high waisted skirt
tuck a simple tee or a pretty blouse into your skirt and pull the skirt up to your waist; tights or leggings will make this outfit warmer for the chilly days of fall; but they're also SUPERRRR cute! target has awesome tights in all the colors of the rainbow and in cute patterns like lace and floral :) Add a cardigan for a cozy feel :)

O3. Jeans;
you can do so much with jeans; its insane! my favorite fall look for jeans is a long sleeved, fitted tee with a slouchy cardigan vest over; lace vests are even CUTER! :)

O4. Rompers;
yes; you can still wear your favorite summer romper in the fall!! :) to make it fall-ish; wear tights underneath & a long boyfriend cardigan over :)

O5. the trench-coat dress
trench coats are AWESOME, supperrrr cute & they are perfect for the fall :) over your favorite little black dress (or your favorite casual dress for everyday) with a beret, flirty flats, and tights is an adorable fall outfit for a night out of just everyday :)

O6. the lazy cute look
haha; yeah i made that up; this look can be achieved by wearing an oversized sweater or college logo hoodie with your favorite destroyed jeans :) this look is cute with floral sneakers; vans lo pros/authentics; or some well-loved converse :)

O7. Fall accessories;
-scarves
-berets
-belts around your waist
-gold jewelry
-pearls
-button bracelets {tutorial coming soon!}
-cute fall symbol earrings like hot cocoa, leaves, or candy corn
